Singers flock to Columbus for a chance of a lifetime

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Hopefuls from all over gathered in Uptownon Saturday to sing their hearts out. It's all for a chance to get a guaranteedaudition for the Fox show X Factor.

They all say it's their time toshine. In front of four judges and a huge crowd, the contestants have to showeveryone in Columbus that they have what it takes and it's called the X Factor.

Sixteen-year-old Destiny Harrisonhas been singing all her life. After singing 'One and Only' by Adele, Destinygot a standing ovation, the only one of the night.

"It feels great! It's likean honor," said Destiny

Contestants are vying for theultimate prize."If I win I'm going straight to the x Factor" said Destiny."And hopefully I'll do well in that competition as well."

The winner of the competitionwill fly to Providence Rhode Island, where they'll skip to the front of theline of thousands of other hopefuls for a guaranteed audition.

"Probably challenging anddifficult, but you got to get there somehow," Contestant Kaleigh Dunnsaid.

To get there 13-year-old singerKaleigh Dunn will have to outperform 22 other contestants, but she says she haswhat it takes to be a star.

"I'm myself and I sing theway I sing not anybody else," said kaleigh.

But when it was all said andsung, Chelsea battle won the competition! Battle will now travel toProvidence Rhode Island where she will perform in front of Simon Cowell and therest of the X Factor judges.
