AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - An Auburn city council member is facing charges of trespassing after a scuffle with an east Alabama business owner.
Arthur Dowdell, who has served on council since 1994, says earlier this month, he had a disagreement with the store owner while purchasing a pair of sunglasses at the QV in Auburn.
Dowdell says he intended to press charges of harassment against the owner, Lawrence Delorenzo, but in court Tuesday, Dowdell was charged with trespassing.
He says his next court appearance is set for May 15.
News Leader 9 went by the QV store to try and talk with Delorenzo, but he refused to comment.
