ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith says his ailing left knee is feeling better, and he's not ruling out being able to play against the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the playoffs.
Smith says he's still quite sore because of a strained tendon, but he's always had a high tolerance for pain. He'll know more after the morning shootaround before Friday night's game in Boston.
The Hawks will be in a dire predicament if Smith can't go. The team is already missing two other big men, centers Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia.
Pachulia revealed details about his injured left foot for the first time Thursday. He says there's a chipped bone, with doctors putting the normal recovery time at four to six weeks. He was injured three weeks ago.
