Teens arrested for weapons and drugs

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Four teens are in jail after an anonymous 911 call about shots being fired lead Columbus police to the car they were riding in, but police found more than just a firearm when they pulled the group over.

Around four o'clock Saturday afternoon the Columbus 911 Center got a call about shots being fired from a car. After getting the description of the vehicle, police spotted the car near the intersection of Schataulga Road and Cargo Drive.

While searching the vehicle, officers found pistols and drugs. Reports state nearly two ounces of marijuana, a street value of more than $455, a digital scale, and a pipe were taken from the car.

The four teens inside the car, 17-year-old Demetrius Morgan, 17-year-old Xavier Fair, 18-year-old Adrian Johnson, and 17-year-old Whitnee Duggan, were placed under arrest and taken to the Muscogee County Jail.

Each of the teens is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a drug related object and possession of a pistol by a minor.

The driver of the car, Whitnee Duggan, has bonded out of jail.

The other three suspects will appear in Recorder's Court Monday afternoon.
