GEORGETOWN, GA (WTVM) -

A Quitman County woman who was arrested for illegal gambling has now entered a plea.

Theresa Davis was arrested last year in an illegal gaming bust.

Quitman County Sheriff deputies along with members of the special task force teamed up to shut down an illegal gambling operation in Georgetown, Georgia on Highway 82.

Deputies collected about $3,000 from eight game machines. The game room had only been open for a couple of hours. Sheriff Steve Newton says that these types of operations usually make about $10,000 a week from illegal game machines.

Davis pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gambling charge and has been ordered to pay back the $2,700 she earned from the unlawful establishment.
