COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A Columbus murder suspect pleaded not guilty in Recorder's Court Wednesday morning. The plea came after Javonta Harris was thrown out of court for laughing.

He was eventually allowed back in by judge Michael Cielinski. The 19-year-old is accused of firing a gun from a moving car, killing Antonio Robinson last month.

Harris' mother offered an explanation for her son's courtroom behavior.

"When he gets disciplined, he's always laughing. I'm not going to say it's a nervous problem... he does a lot of laughing to keep from crying, " said the suspect's mother.

Harris remained calm throughout remaining hearing. Detectives testified he and co-defendant Robert Miller III followed the victim from a nightclub to Brown Avenue before opening fire.

Harris is being held without bond and his case has been bound over to Superior Court.
