Two former prep softball stars from Columbus earned national honors when the NFCA and Daktronics announced Division II All-American teams.

Former Hardaway Hawk April Jowers was a consensus first team All-American. The Armstrong Atlantic second baseman led the nation with a .565 batting average.

Meanwhile, Casey Googe, who played her high school softball at Northside High School, was third-team with the NFCA and honorable mention by Daktronics after setting a Columbus State and Peach Belt Conference record with 22 homers, third best in the nation.
