Georgia's Republican Party members are holding a state convention Friday afternoon at the Columbus Civic Center.

Plans Friday evening included a series of speeches by some of the party's big names, Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson among them.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was recognized at a Victory dinner Friday night. Gingrich was spotted Friday afternoon at the National Infantry Museum where he stopped by for a visit.

Gingrich addressed members of the Georgia Republican Party saying, "We have two choices the nation has two choices this fall and only two choices, the nation can choose  Mitt Romney someone who is going to pick U.S. supreme court judges who are like Clarence Thomas or they can pick the most radical president in American history who is going to pick very radical judges."

Gingrich will address the delegates on Saturday along with Georgia governor Nathan Deal.
