News Leader 9 was the only media outlet in court as thesuspect in the 2011 murder case of a Columbus security guard entered a guiltyplea. 

A Columbus man will nowspend the rest of his life in prison after killing a security guard. Gregory James, 39, appeared in court Monday morning where he plead guilty to the April 2011 murder of Felton Dyous.

Dyous was working as asecurity guard at Mario's Bar in downtown Columbus when police say James beganfiring into a crowd. James shot four men, injuring three and killing one.

The murder victim's motherhad the opportunity to confront her son's killer in court. She cried and simplyasked Gregory James, "Why did you kill my baby?"

After entering his plea, Judge John Allen sentenced Gregory James to life in prison. James is alsoserving three 25 year sentences concurrent with his life sentence for shootingthe three other men.
