PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Rescuers recovered the body of a fisherman from the Chattahoochee River, near the Eagle and Phenix dam Tuesday morning. 

Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley told News Leader 9 Chester Lee James, 56, was fishing on the Phenix City side of the river when he lost his life.

His body was found a little after 9:00 a.m. It's not known at this time how he died. His body has been sent to the crime lab for an autopsy. Officials expect results to be in Wednesday.

Investigators tell us there were no wounds or gashes on his body. No foul play is expected.
