Miracle Riders return home after traveling 10,000 miles

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

For the past three weeks, Scott Ressmeyer and his Miracle Riders have made their way through the 48 connected states, and Friday, they all returned home.

The annual ride helps raise money and bring awareness to the Children's Miracle Network that helps benefit families each year.

14 motorcycle riders traveled through 48 states in 21 days.  They have traveled nearly 10,000 miles and used a little over 3,000 gallons of gas between the 14 bikes.

The riders began their journey at 7:00 AM each day. They even had to stop and have their bikes repaired at one point, but still, they plowed through making their trek across country.

They made stops at Children's Hospitals around the United States, and even a stopped in Ressmeyer's home town in Minnesota.

The Miracle Riders also made a stop at Ground Zero in New York City.

Their goal is to hopefully raise a total of one million dollars.
