Phenix City man dies in motorcycle crash in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

An early Monday morning motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Phenix City man.

Columbus police say 22-year-old Patrick Monk was traveling east on J.R. Allen from Phenix City when he lost control of his motorcycle on the 2nd Avenue exit ramp.

According to police, he hit a guardrail and was ejected off the bike.

It happened just before midnight and no other vehicles were involved.  Monk was pronounced dead by a coroner at the scene.
