LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

Officialsin LaGrange confirmed one man is dead after an early morning house fire. The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. Thursday on Martha Street.

Family members said 56-year-old Thomas Roberts lived with his brother and teenage daughter. Firefighters rescued Roberts from the home, but later died at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Roberts' daughter, Abby East, says her uncle is still in the hospital in Atlanta in the intensive care unit, but she says he is recovering.

LaGrange police have determined the cause of this fire was accidental.
