COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus police are questioning a person of interest in connection to the death of a woman whose body was found Friday afternoon in her Lakebottom apartment.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ciara Ingram was discovered at the Village Apartments around 2 p.m. Police said she had been dead for several days.

Harris County Sheriff's Deputies are confirming that the man being questioned was picked up at a residence in Cataula around 6 p.m. Friday night and taken to the Columbus Police Department in connection to Ingram's death.

Authorities are not releasing much information about the victim or what may have happened. Her body will be sent to Atlanta for an autopsy.

The investigation had some neighbors shocked and frightened.

"I'm just you know, surprised, and a little bit frightened because you know anytime you see the yellow taping you know it is something really serious," said resident Rita Sims.

"It's very scary because I have kids in here, and I never know what is going to happen. If it is someone who got in the apartment, I don't know. And, I am here always by myself with the kids just me all day. It is very scary," said resident Karla Hernandez.
