Chief: Auburn shooting suspect still on the run

AUBURN, AL (RNN) – After police spent hours searching a house in east Montgomery, AL, for the suspect accused of claiming three lives and wounding three others near Auburn University last weekend, police announced the reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest has risen to $30,000.

A 911 call which tipped police off to the supposed whereabouts alleged shooter Desmonte Leonard, 22, had been a dud, according to Auburn Police Chief Tommy Dawson.

"We have not rested, we will not rest [until the suspect is found]," Dawson said Tuesday. "If he's out there watching today, I implore him, this has gone on long enough… We're going to apprehend him."
