ATLANTA (AP) - Emergency officials in Georgia have revised their website and launched a new webcast for hurricane season.
The Georgia Emergency Management Agency, or GEMA, says the upgrade is meant to make the most up-to-date information more accessible before, during and after a disaster.
The revamped website features a modern, colorful design and is divided into user-specific sections to make it easier for visitors to find the information they need.
A new multi-media section includes the GEMA News Minute webcast, which is produced in partnership with the Georgia Public Broadcasting. This 90-second webcast is released every Tuesday and covers a wide range of topical information.
Visitors also will have access to real-time updates, such as current weather conditions, open shelters and terrorism alerts.
