The MuscogeeCounty School Board has approved its budget for fiscal year 2013. Final adoption of the general fund budget was passed during Monday regular board meeting.
The nearly $273 million budget does include five furlough days for employees.
School Board member Cathy Williams says the board is satisfied with the final budget even though the district had to deal with extensive cuts in state funding.
The board passed the appointment of John Phillips as interim superintendent by a vote of7 to 2. His salary has not yet been decided.
The board also appointed an interim Adult Education Program Director effective July1.
This appointment will allow the district to continue receiving state and federal funding for the Adult Education Program.
