Two charged with tampering evidence at the scene of a fatal accident

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

News Leader 9 has learned two warrants have been issued in last weekend's car accident that left a 16-year-old dead.

Daniel Hughes Messengale, 17, and Austin Lott, 18, are charged with tampering with evidence at the scene of the crash on County Line Road.

Hannah Gilmer was killed after Clayton Qualls, 17, lost control of the car he was driving.  He has been charged with vehicular homicide.

Messengale has bonded out of the Muscogee County Jail and will not appear in recorder's court. Lott is schedule to appear in recorder's court Friday morning.
