New commander leads infantry training at Fort Benning

A new commander is now in charge of infantry training at Fort Benning.

Colonel Jonathan Neumann will lead the 198th Infantry Brigade.  He assumed duties from Colonel Bruce Parker during a change of command ceremony Wednesday morning.

The West Point Military Academy graduate says his main focus is learning the unit.

"We can maintain the great standards that have been set here already and continue to keep them going forward," said Parker.

Neumann comes to Fort Benning from Carlisle, Pennsylvania as an Army War College student.

Colonel Bruce Parker is heading to Fort Bragg, North Carolina to be the operation officer for the 18 Airborne Corps.
