OMAHA, NE - Allison Schmitt's impressive performance in the United States Olympic Trials continued on Saturday with a third-place showing in the 100-mere freestyle at CenturyLink Center.
Schmitt, who earlier won the 200- and 400-meter freestyles, touched the wall is 54.30 seconds to finish just .15 off qualifying for a third individual event next month in London. Amada Weir, another former Lady Bulldog, came in fifth at 54.41 and all but secured a spot on a second Olympic team as a potential relay member.
