COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Independence Day is approaching, and although the heat is rising, many holiday drivers are seeing gas prices lower at the pumps.

Gas prices are finally less than $3 in Columbus, and motorists are grateful for the drop. After prices almost reached $4 earlier this year, many drivers are taking advantage of the savings.

According to some reports from American Automobile Association, the decrease in gas prices may be short-lived, so take advantage of it while you can.
