(WTVM) - For the second time since June, the FDA has approved a new prescription diet drug.
It's called Qsymia (pronounced kyoo-sim-ee-uh), and patients in clinical trials lost an average of 23 pounds.
Some consumer advocates are concerned about the drug's side effects, which could include an increased heart rate, hyperventilation, fatigue and anorexia.
The drug is recommended for obese patients.
Belviq was the other drug approved by the FDA this year.
