SMITHVILLE, GA (WTVM) - Two adults are now charged in an accidental shooting that killed a 10-year-old boy in Smithville, Georgia.
The GBI has charged 59-year-old Virginia Carter and 57-year-old Ronald Thomas with involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and tampering with evidence for hiding the gun after the shooting.
Thomas is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
They live in the home where children found a shotgun Monday evening. A 7-year-old boy fired it, killing 10-year-old Rickie Jenkins.
