Injured hawk on his way to Auburn

Posted: Updated:

That injured hawk has found his ride for medical help, thanks to a concerned South Georgian.  After an Albany veterinarian appealed  for help to transport an injured young hawk to the Auburn University Veterinary School, a trusted friend stepped forward to provide the ride.

Wednesday we showed you the young male hawk, that was injured when it flew into the plate glass window at Brooks Furniture on West Broad Avenue.

Dr. Fred Freeland of Albany Pet Partners took the hawk for examination, but his regular wild animal transportation sources to Auburn can't go.

This afternoon Dr. Freeland said a trusted animal transporter came forward, and the injured hawk will get specialized treatment soon.
