West Georgia Grey advances to Dixie Boys World Series

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

West Georgia Grey claimed the Georgia Dixie Boys state baseball title on Friday, beating Columbia County 23-4 in five innings at Britt David Park.

Cason Greathouse threw a four-hitter, striking out 11 in his five innings of work. But he was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a homer and nine RBI.

Bryce Delavie also went 4-for-5, with a triple and a grand slam, racking up six RBI of his own. Delavie's grand slam came in an 11-run fourth inning.

West Georgia Grey advances to the Dixie Boys World Series in Covington, Georgia. They will open versus the Virginia state champion on August 4 at 4:00 pm ET.

Also, the Northern All-Stars defeated Warner Robins American 7-1 to claim the Georgia Little League 11's state championship in Richmond Hill.

Northern advances to the 11's Tournament of State Champions in Greenville, NC, where they will open play against the West Virginia state champs on Saturday, July 28 at 4 p.m. ET.
