WTVM News Leader 9 has been told officials are meeting to set a date for Ricardo Strozier's trial.
Strozier faces 10 charges including malice and felony murder. Police say Strozier was burglarizing Jackson's house when Jackson came home and was shot in the back.
District Attorney Julia Slater had previously announced she would seek the death penalty against Strozier.
