FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - Fort Benning is renewing its commitment to help military families stay strong.
The new commander and his team made good on the promise by signing the Army Family Covenant.
Since 2007, the program has provided jobs, assisted with high-quality housing and education for family members of soldiers.
"I think a lot of times, we get so busy in our day-to-day operations, we need to stop and pause and take a moment to do so that all of our families know we have their best interest at heart," said Garrison Commander Jeffrey Fletcher.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with a back to school bash. Students received free school supplies and enjoyed free food, fun and games.
