FORT BENNING, Ga. -  As students prepare their return to the classroom, Fort Benning is giving parents a forum to discuss concerns and get answers. The installation's third virtual town hall is set for Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 6 p.m.

Garrison Commander Col. Jeffrey Fletcher and nearly 70 representatives from post agencies will gather inside the Maneuver Center of Excellence headquarters to field questions from hundreds of families via Facebook during the 90-minute event.

In keeping with previous virtual town halls, experts will be on hand to answer questions about a variety of topics including safety, housing, youth programs and training in addition to Fort Benning schools.

Fort Benning began hosting town halls through Facebook in January 2011 to give busy families an online alternative to traditional "brick-and-mortar" town halls.

The event is open to the public and all are invited to participate by logging onto www.facebook.com/fortbenningfans.
