(WTVM) - A Georgia boy is being hailed as a hero after he rescued another boy from nearly drowning in a California hotel pool.
Eight-year-old Cooper Davis was vacationing with his family a few miles from Disneyland.
Davis said he noticed another boy face down at the bottom of the pool and put his swimming skills to the test.
"I thought he was playing, so I took a breath and I heard another kid say, 'Help, help, a kid's drowning,'" Davis said. "I dove down (and ) latched him with one hand. Couldn't swim under the water and was drowning."
Police gave the Davis family a coin to commemorate the boy's heroics. Davis says he's just glad the other boy is okay.
