One week until Georgia’s sales tax holiday

(WTVM) - For the first time since 2009, Georgia is offering parents a tax holiday on back-to-school goods.

The state will temporarily suspend the sales tax on August 10 and 11 for general school supplies, some clothing, computers and computer accessories.

The National Retail Federation said parents with school-age children are expected to spend an average of $700 on back-to-school items this year, roughly $85 more than last year's average.
