Longtime Muscogee Co. school board members booted after election

Norene Marvets (Incumbent) School Board District 7 Norene Marvets (Incumbent) School Board District 7
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Two members of the Muscogee County School Board have been booted from the panel. Longtime member James Walker was upset by A.J. Senior in District 3. Senior was the choice of 52% of voters.

Norene Marvets lost her District 7 re-election bid to Hannon Heflin. Heflin picked up 56% of the vote Tuesday.

Walker, Marvets and three other board members were recently criticized for blocking appointments by the superintendent.
