A class action lawsuit has been filed in federal court against Kroger on behalf of all customers who purchased pet food contaminated with aflatoxin.

In 2010, Kroger issued a recall due to possible contamination that included 10 brands in 19 states, including Alabama and Georgia.

When ingested by pets, aflatoxin can cause sluggishness, vomiting and liver disease.
