NEWNAN, GA (WTVM) - A Chihuahua is being hailed as a hero after authorities say it sniffed out two girls who were lost in a Georgia forest.
The two girls, ages five and eight, went missing after walking on trails near their wooded neighborhood in Newnan.
Neighbors and rescue teams searched for the girls, but it was their neighbor's three-year-old Chihuahua who picked up the girls' scent and ran through the woods, leading the search party straight to them.
The girls' mother says the two play with the dog daily. Neither were hurt.
