Oftentimes when we think about our military, we think about the soldiers making a huge sacrifice: the deployments, the many moves, the separations and the heartfelt homecomings.

What we sometimes forget about is their children who have to pick up and go to another school.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVM) -

Congress took another step today to prevent protests at military funerals.

The "Honoring America's Veterans" bill includes an amendment barring protests two hours before and two hours after military funerals.

The bill also requires protestors to be at least 300 feet away from grieving family members. Violators could face a $50,000 fine for each offense.

The bill now heads to President Obama's desk.
