AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - He's one of baseball's biggest names, and his wife is known for her even bigger heart.
Braves star pitcher Tim Hudson and his wife Kim are teaming up with one of country music's biggest stars to raise money for their foundation dedicated to children and families in need.
Country music star Dierks Bentley is coming to the Auburn Arena Friday, November 2. Ticket sales benefit the Hudson Family Foundation, a non-profit founded in 2009 by the Hudsons in their hometown of Auburn.
"Tickets go on pre-sale Tuesday August 14 at 9 a.m." said Kim. "The promo code is HFF for Hudson Family Foundation, then tickets go on sale to the general public a week later on August 21 at 9 a.m. through Ticket Master."
Craig Morgan and Easton Corbin will also be performing.
A limited number of sponsorship packages can be purchased by families or businesses. They include VIP access to the concert, plus dinner and an auction at the AU club Thursday night, with a private concert by another big name in music.
"Uncle Cracker is doing a private concert for us the night before....I know right?" said Kim. "We do anything from go out and volunteer and sweat equity to individual grants for families in need from sickness, tragedy, accidents, anything like that."
Hudson can't wait for November 2 to share an amazing night with one of country's biggest names, while raising money for work she feels called to do.
Last year the Hudson Family Foundation rose close to $250,000 when Luke Bryan played in concert. Kim tells us she hopes to raise even more money this year.
"There is something about creating something from the bottom up that you know needs to be done and we find great joy in helping others, it is what we are here for," Kim said.
