COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A big chunk of money and drugs are off the streets of Columbus.  The suspects appeared in Recorder's Court today.

39- year-old Hubert Staples and 27-year-old Sherita Cherry pleaded not guilty to several serious charges including cocaine possession and reckless conduct charges.

A Columbus detective testified they watched staples for a month before serving a warrant.

Police found about $35,000 worth of cocaine and approximately $18,000 in cash at Cherry's home on Fisk Avenue.

The reckless conduct charge stems from three of Cherry's children being in the home at the time of the arrest.

Both are being held in the Muscogee County Jail without bond.
