BIRMINGHAM, AL (WTVM) - Presidential candidate Mitt Romney was in Birmingham Wednesday night, rallying Republicans and raising campaign money.
Romney took center stage tonight at a reception at "The Club" in Birmingham.
Supporters paid anywhere from $1,000 to $25,000 to attend the private fundraiser
People opposed to Romney's stance on illegal immigration were outside the club's entrance.
Congressman Bill Armistead, chairman of Alabama's Republican Party, says he's extremely confident about Romney's success against the President in the November election.
"Well, Alabama is going to vote for Governor Romney, but you know wherever I go in Alabama, people tell me they want to win this election so else can they do other than vote for Governor Romney," said Armistead.
During the Republican presidential primary, Romney finished third behind Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.
