AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama High School Athletic Association has cleared Auburn High School transfer Reuben Foster to play this season.

Auburn City Schools says in a statement released Thursday that an AHSAA inquiry determined that no violation occurred when Foster transferred from Troup County High School in LaGrange, Ga., in April.

The senior linebacker is rated by recruiting services as the nation's No. 2 prospect. He has verbally committed to play for Auburn next season.

Auburn City Schools athletic director Clay McCall says in a statement the school ensures that any transferring athlete "is in good standing and in compliance with AHSAA requirements."
