School named after Judge Aaron Cohn

MIDLAND, GA (WTVM) - The middle school on Garrett Road in Midland will be named Aaron Cohn Middle School after the late juvenile court judge who died early last month.

The board voted unanimously accepting member Mark Cantrell's proposal to name the school after Judge Cohn.

"I hope everybody is going to enjoy the Cohn middle school just as much as I enjoyed giving it that name that is going to last many, many years and a long legacy for Mr. Judge Aaron Cohn," said Cantrell.

The new middle school is about 40 percent complete and is expected to be finished in January.

Students are expected to start attending the new school in the fall of 2013.

The superintendent and the board will look at the SPLOST funds already collected and figure out ways to make up for the now $30 million shortfall.
