Opelika kicks off Total Resource Campaign

The red carpet to success was rolled out Tuesday morning at the kickoff of the first annual Opelika Chamber of Commerce Total Resource Campaign.

The campaign is designed to engage volunteers to promote their companies and communicate the range of products and services the Opelika Chamber of Commerce provides to its members and to the area.

"It's about the chamber, it's about business, it's about the community and it's about doing everything at one time to bring it all together and get it done," explains Opelika Chamber of Commerce President, Barbara Patton.

The guest speaker at this Oscar-themed breakfast was the Chairman of the Columbus TRC and president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc, Jane Nichols. She offered advice on how to make the TRC of Opelika a success.

"This campaign won't happen without strong volunteers and business that care about reinvesting in the community," says Nichols.

More than 52 community leaders will join forces to promote their businesses while helping the Opelika community grow even stronger.

"The great thing for business, as a business ourselves, is that you can make a decision once and know what you are committed to for the rest of the year. It helps from a budgeting perspective and you can target your audience, so for everyone it's a win-win," explains Nichols.

The goal for this year's campaign is $175,000 by the end of September and more than 200 hundred sponsorships are now available.

"Seven weeks total, we have kicked off our sales campaign last Friday so we will go through September in sales campaign and then we'll have our awards banquet in October, the first week in October and hopefully announce that we have exceeded our goal," says Opelika TRC Chairman, Ronnie Wilson.
