JACKSON, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A woman was airlifted to The MED after she was shot at the Best Buy in Jackson, Tennessee.

The shooting happened at the Best Buy on Vann Drive near Interstate 40 at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials with the Jackson Police Department tell Action News 5 that the victim was conscious while being transported to the hospital.

Action News 5's Janice Broach spoke with police on the scene. They said the woman's fiancée walked into the store and shot her twice in the head. Police also said it was the man who shot her that escorted her out of the store afterward.

Investigators say the man was tased by police as he held his gun up after exiting the store. He was handcuffed and taken to the hospital for observation.

People working at a nearby Firestone saw what happened.

"A lady that was shopping with us, woman working on her car, came running over here. Said she was inside and three aisles over a woman got shot and they told her to get out of the store," Steve Mooney explained. "So we started shutting all the doors and everything and we looked out, we seen a woman just coming across the parking lot and she got in between a car and we run over there with some first aid kids and stuff."

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released. No charges have been filed at this time.

Best Buy is currently closed. The store is expected to reopen Thursday.
