COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Some of America's favorite R&B bands received keys to the city Thursday.

Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson presented the keys in a special ceremony at the government center to kick-off the Timeless Music Festival, which brings favorite classic groups  together in one place.

Larry Dodson, lead vocalist for the Bar-Kays, said it's a once in a lifetime concert.

"Everybody's gonna come to this concert tomorrow, you're gonna hear only number one records," Dodson said. "We go non-stop as I told the audience earlier. It's no plugging and unplugging, no set changes,   start at 7 and an half hours, all the hits."

Some of the other bands appearing in the festival on Friday are Con Funk Shun, Ohio Players and A Taste of Honey.

The festival starts at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Civic Center, where you'll hear classics  like "Love Rollercoaster," "Let It Whip," and "Boogie Oogie Oogie."
