Family of mom & son found dead in home want investigation to continue

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Seven months ago Tawanna Ford's screams filled the streets of Oakland Park. She had just received word that her aunt Tina Hall and 6-year-old cousin Jeremy were found shot to death in their Howe Avenue Home.

Fighting back tears Tuesday afternoon, Tawanna told News Leader 9 that the recent announcement by Columbus investigators to close the case as a murder-suicide, with her Aunt Tina shooting her 6-year-old son and then turning the gun on herself, seems highly impossible.

"She was a good mom, I just could understand because she was a good mom," Ford said. "You just never know what nobody going through you never know what other people make other people do."

Investigators closed the case after forensic evidence and autopsy reports reveled that Tina Hall shot 6-year-old son Jeremy in his bedroom and then took her own life. They were both found lying on Jeremy's bed.

We spoke with Jeremy's father Jerry Hall over the phone. He and his niece Tawanna say investigations need to continue.

"They need to do some more investigations, it wasn't open long enough if you ask me," said Ford. "I can't say they did this or they did that but they need to do some more investigating you just can't close nothing out like this."

Though it has been half a year, Tawanna says her family still finds it hard to cope with the loss and says they won't rest until the real person they believe is responsible is brought to justice.
