Would you step up in a critical time of need?
Sure you would, you always do. The American Red Cross needs your help during their critical time of need - they are in dire need of blood and platelet donations.
The Red Cross said summer is a typically slow time for them, but this year, the supply is at the lowest it's been in 15 years. That's right, 15 years. They're sure hoping more people will step up.
About half of the blood they collect comes from people that donate once a year and if only half of the people who gave once, give twice, the Red Cross would never have a blood shortage.
Real people are in need of blood: our friends, relatives and neighbors. Maybe even you some time in the future. What happens to those people if one day we actually do run out?
Please take time to give your gift of life, and do it soon.
