WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) -

A Boonville teacher is out of jail on bond Friday night, after being arrested on a voyeurism charge.

Police say 30-year-old Andrew Emmons, a teacher at the middle school, was arrested after a school employee found a video recording device in a faculty restroom.

"We are shocked," said Warrick Co. School Corporation Superintendent Brad Schneider.

Schneider tells us, in his ten years as superintendent, he's never seen a situation like this one, saying he's surprised that sixth grade science and reading teacher Andrew Emmons could be involved.

"He's always been a model teacher, an outstanding member of the community," Schneider told 14 News.

Boonville Police Chief Daryl Saltzman says, after Emmons's arrest, officials collected electronic equipment from Emmons's classroom and his home, turning devices such as cell phones or computers over to Indiana State Police.

"Any type of cameras, video cameras, digital cameras," said Saltzman. "Anything that can be used for the storage of electronic material."

Officials say, at this time, they're not releasing how they linked that recording device to Emmons.

Schneider tells us, after the investigation is complete, the district will offer some form of counseling for all middle school staff members.

"We'll probably even do something with students, just because this is going to be an issue in the community," Schneider said.

School Officials say as of right now, Emmons is suspended from his job. Police say right now, he's charged with voyeurism and as that investigation continues, more charges could follow.
