Baby found unresponsive at Eagle Trace, pronounced dead at hospital

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A local family is grieving today at the loss of their seven-month-old baby, Christina Thomas.

Police were called to a home at 5 a.m. Friday morning at the Eagle Trace Apartments, where the baby was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The baby girl was staying with her grandmother while her parents were working. No other details are being released at this time.

Shortly after, there was another death at the same complex in a different building. Both victims were believed to have died of natural causes.

During these investigations Muscogee County Coronor Bill Thrower began to feel ill, and was checked out by EMS at the scene. He is feeling okay tonight.

Police say no foul play is suspected.
