Mayor Tomlinson to hold open forum with Columbus citizens

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - This week, Columbus citizens will have the opportunity to talk about what's on their minds face-to-face with Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.

Mayor Tomlinson will hold the next "Let's Talk!... with the Mayor" on Thursday Sept. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The forum will be held in coordination with the Columbus State University Student Activity Council and Student Government Association at the CSU Cunningham Center located at 3100 Gentian Boulevard.

This meeting is open to the public and will be filmed for later broadcast on Columbus Consolidated Government Television Network.

"Let's Talk! … with the Mayor" is a public forum that is held in conjunction with community partners such as civic groups and neighborhood associations. The purpose of the forum is to provide a current status of the city, as well as provide an opportunity for citizens to come together and discuss their concerns.

The last "Let's Talk!... with the Mayor" forum was held June 2012 , which saw more than 100 citizens attend to hear from Mayor Tomlinson, City Manager Isaiah Hugley, elected officials, city department heads, and public safety representatives.

The next forum will be held Tuesday Dec. 11 from 6-7:30 the River Mill Event Center.
