With the election less than 50 days away, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is getting the attention that he was not looking for.

Some unscripted comments he made during a private fundraiser earlier this year were recorded and posted on the liberal website magazine, Mother Jones.

In the secretly recorded video clip, you hear Romney say, "There are 47% who are with him, who are dependent on government, who believe that, they are victims. Who believe that government has the responsibility to care for them?"

Monday night Romney told reporters his comments were not elegant, but he did not back down, "Do you believe in a government centered society that provides more and more benefits or do you believe instead in a free enterprise society where people are able to pursue their dreams? I believe the latter will help more people get good jobs."

Mother Jones posted the clip, seemingly at the presidential candidate's request. You can find the clip on YouTube: http://youtu.be/mUEHpc6JKw8
