COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Saint Francis Hospital held a topping out ceremony Tuesday for its new clinical tower.

A forty-eight foot steel beam weighing more than two tons was hoisted to the top of the tower after everyone in attendance signed it.

One employee at Saint Francis told News Leader 9 what the ceremony meant to her.

"When I first got here, none of this was like that," said Carla Robinson. "It was just, I thought, a small hospital and now it's just growing tremendously. It's awesome... it's just awesome and I'm really pleased and proud of that."

This new building will have 248 private rooms. The hospital plans to take their cardiac program to the next level and provide full women's services.

The project cost about $150 million and will be completed later next year.
