MERIWETHER COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

Character witnesses took the stand Thursday in the case of a man charged with killing a 2-year-old.

Casey Spradlin was arrested in Meriwether County two years ago and charged with murder, child cruelty, and battery.

GBI agents say Brayden Robinson, 2, suffered injuries from blunt-force head trauma.

The child's grandmother is among those who were questioned on the witness stand. She testified about events she encountered the day before the murder.

Spradlin refused to testify in his own defense.
